COLUMBUS, Ohio – Redshirt senior Logan Stieber has been named the Big Ten Wrestler of the Week, the conference announced today. It is his second honor in as many weeks.

Last week at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev., Stieber (10-0) won the 141-pound title in dominate fashion, going 5-0 with all five of his win coming via bonus points. In the finals, he defeated Virginia Tech’s Devin Carter, ranked third, 12-3. It was a rematch of last year’s NCAA final, a match Stieber won 10-1 to claim his third straight national championship.

On his way to the finals, Stieber defeated two other ranked wrestlers – No. 11 Anthony Ashnault of Rutgers (major decision, 9-1) and No. 16 Todd Preston of Harvard (tech fall, 17-1).

Ranked first nationally at 141 pounds, Stieber’s title at the CKLV Invitational was the fourth of his career, making his just the second wrestler in NCAA history to win four CKLV titles (Stephen Abas of Fresno State is the other). Additionally, Stieber’s victory in the final was the 100th of his career, making him the fastest Buckeye to ever reach the 100-victory milestone. He is currently 100-3 and his .971 winning percentage is the best in school history.
