CollegeAmerica Students and Staff Prepare to “Climb to Conquer Cancer”

For the second year, students and staff at CollegeAmerica will participate in the American Cancer Society’s Climb to Conquer Cancer event, which will be held on August 20. Currently 202 teams and 4,024 participants have registered for the climb.

“The Climb to Conquer Cancer has become a beloved tradition on our campus because it provides the opportunity for students, staff, and faculty to connect with each other and the community. That connection helps keep students engaged in their education and on the path to graduation,” said Suzanne Scales, campus director at CollegeAmerica Flagstaff. “We pride ourselves in offering philanthropic opportunities to students and staff throughout the year, from volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters to other fundraising events like Relay for Life.”

The Climb to Conquer Cancer climb is 6.7 miles at Arizona Snowbowl. The climb starts at 7:00 a.m. All proceeds from the event support the American Cancer Society’s work to save lives and create a world with less cancer. The Climb to Conquer Cancer is one of the many philanthropic activities that the Flagstaff campus participates in throughout the year; other activities include participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and March of Dimes’ March for Babies, as well as volunteering with Big Brother Big Sisters, Hope’s Cottage, and the Northern Arizona Food Bank.
