Comcast In Trouble With FCC

Friday, August 01 2008, the FCC(Federal Communications Commission) held a vote that was 3-2 that found the cable, phone and internet company that found Comcast breaking the law.

Reason why? Because they were blocking software connection types behind their clients backs.

Comcast started this last year, when they would overload their servers with too much traffic to interfer with the subscribers connections, to make using Peer-to-Peer(P2P) software very hard to use. For the fear that it would make them lose customer who paid for Video-On-Demand, by using BitTorrent(the type of software) to watch movies for free online.

Though no fines have been issued, the FCC has asked for a compliance plan to show on how they plan to stop this.

Comcast is looking at their legal options.
