COMPARISON: FACE TO FACE TALK VS MOBILE PHONES, AND, THEIR EFFECTS
Life without cell / mobile / satellite / I phones ! You will even hesitate to even ponder over this, avoid wasting time thinking such stupid ( so called ) matters. Without the presence of these gadgets, is the life on our planet possible? Not at all, the first thing that comes to you, and, even if possible, it will be extremely difficult and human beings will feel themselves moving back to the stone age. This attitude will be most prominent in Europe, USA, Japan, etc., and least in the tribal areas of Africa where these gadgets are still unidentified objects.
Some individuals might be chatting, some genuinely discussing, some poking, some gossiping, some talking to their behind the curtain friends, some settling drug prices and places, some detonating bombs, some playing games……………….the list is end less. Formal, helping and usual conversation with known ones and strangers have vanished.
At one time or another, most of us use these gadgets ( cell phones, I phones, laptops, tablet PC’s ) to isolate ourselves from our surroundings, and this thing is really achieved in toto.
I phones are useful in many ways during work situations. We think I phones are representing progress, but, in reality the fact is: It doesn’t matter how many sophisticated gadgets you have, where-why-when and what we can download or upload, how fast and wide your internet connection ( like broadband ) is, if this little ergonomic tyrant is running most of the part of your life, and, along with ruining and destroying or at least putting to an end your personal relationships. Two friend sitting on a single table, sipping coffee, gossiping physically can never be compared with doing the same on any gadget, being it I phone, video conferencing or whatsoever technological gadget it may be. Never.
The emergence of gadgets like Blackberry, 3G services, etc. have spilled over the jobs of people onto their lives. In such a scenario, we are forced to live double, sometimes even triple lives, prominent two being Real and Virtual. Postal services like writing and sending cards and letters have almost gone into oblivion. And these services, along with them, took the fun, uniqueness, wait for answer and the taste away from us. We have all become so much used to instant messaging that we can’t wait even for a short time leading a strange, ugly feeling of uneasiness, emotional depression and frustration..
These modern, technically advanced gadgets have entered deep up to our soul, into our consciousness. The distance and time’s perception disappears and becomes distorted.
Is their any way out; of at least limiting their use to the minimum by shaking and waking up the sleeping consciousness of people?
