Jammu,March 04 (Scoop News) – Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports R S Chib inaugurated 2-day Conference-cum-Workshop on Pedi Pharma Update organized by Department of Pharmacology and Paediatric, Acharaya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital (ASCOMS&H) in collaboration with World Health Organization (WHO-SEARO) ISRPT (J&K-IAP) city branch Jammu.
The theme of the conference was “Rational use of drugs in children”.
Addressing on the conference, the Minister highlighted the importance of medical education among human beings and said that the concerned people have to update their knowledge according to the current trends for its best use. He said 45 per cent ratio of our population comprises youngsters who require special attention in use of medicines.
Chib said that the medical science is advancing at a faster pace and practitioners have to update their knowledge and skill with such types of conferences. He hoped that guest faculty participating in this conference would help all those involved in the field in updating recent advances.
The Minister also released a souvenir on the occasion.
Director Health Services, Jammu Dr. Madhu Khullar, Director, AIDS Control Society Dr. Rakesh Khajuria, Representative from WHO Dr. Geetanjali, Secretary, Medical Council of India Dr. Sangeeta, delegates from across the country, besides prominent paediatricians and faculty members were present on the occasion.
