Confirmed Lineups- Argentina & Uruguay

Uruguay vs. Bolivia
La Celeste confirmed their starting lineup in their World Cup qualifier opener this weekend at Estadio Centenario in Montevideo.  The big absence will be Fenerbahçe defender Diego Lugano who will be serving a one-match ban as he was sent off against Mexico in the Copa América third place match against Mexico.  He will be replaced by Defensor Sporting defender Maximiliano Pereira who will be making his debut with the national team.

Uruguay
Fabián Carini (Real Murcia-ESP)
Maximiliano Pereira (Defensor Sporting)
Andrés Scotti (Argentinos Jrs- ARG),
Diego Godín (Villarreal-ESP),
Jorge Fucile (Porto-POR)
Diego Pérez (AS Monaco-FRA)
Pablo García (Real Murcia-ESP)
Martín Rodríguez (River Plate),
Luis Suárez (Ajax-NED)
Sebastián Abreu (Tigres-MEX)
Diego Forlán (Atlético Madrid-ESP)

Argentina vs. Chile
Meanwhile Alfio Basile confirmed his Starting XI against Chile at El Monumental.  The only question mark in this lineup is whether Atlético Madrid midfielder Maxi Rodríguez will be ready to go.  He will be given a fitness test in the upcoming days and if he is not ready then Real Madrid’s Fernando Gago would start.  If GAgo were to start, then this would force Mascerano on the right while Gago will play behind Riquelme’s back.  The inclusion of Riquelme was one of the most shocking moves outside of Argentina since the super playmaker is persona non grata in Villarreal and is not in the plan of coach Manuel Pellegrini and the Yellow Submarine brass.

Argentina
Roberto Abbondanzieri (Getafe-ESP)
Javier Zanetti (Inter-ITA)
Martín DeMichelis (Bayern Munich-GER)
Gabriel Milito (Barcelona-ESP)

Juan Román Riquelme (Villarreal-ESP)
Carlos Tévez (Manchester United-ENG)
