Leh, December 23, (Scoop News)-After a patient wait for almost a month the people of Ladakh region took a sigh of relief with the fate of contesting candidates in general election to legislative Assembly being disclosed today with the rest of the districts in J&K and Jarkhand.
As declared by District Election Officer, Leh Simrandeep Singh (DC) Leh at 3 Pm at counting hall,Leh Indian National Congress Candidate Nawang Rigzin Jora was declared the winning candidate from 48- Leh Assembly Constituency with total Votes of 27585 won by a margin of 7676 votes from his rival candidate of BJP Chhering Dorje whose total vote was19909. Total vote cast from 48- Leh Constituency was recorded 44806. In total 662 votes went to NOTA.
Likewise Indian National Congress candidate Deldan Namgyal was declared the winning candidate from 47- Nubra Assembly Constituency with total vote of 3936 won by a margin of 1618 from his rival candidate of J&K National Conference Tsetan Namgail whose total vote count was 2318 votes followed by BJP candidate Stanzin Delex with 1947 votes, PDP candidate Tashi Gyalson with 1415, Independent candidate Tsewang Rigzin with 534 and Independent Nissar Hussain 49 votes. 46 votes went to NOTA.
