Congress forfeits its right to remain in government: Hari Om

Jammu, January 11, (Scoop News)-Describing as utterly undependable the Congress party and its MPs and ministers, particularly from Jammu province, Prof Hari Om, Political Advisor to State BJP President Jugal Kishore Sharma, Friday asked the Congress to come out of the NC-led anti-people, anti-democratic and biased against Jammu coalition government if it really believes that it was not able to play any role in the state. He demanded snapping of ties between the two parties following the questionable admission of the JKPCC president in Jammu that if the Congress had not been able to resolve the issues related to settlement of refugees and 73rd constitutional amendment till date, which were promised by his party, the compulsions of a coalition government was the only reason behind its undue delay which had created many hurdles for its smooth passage.
“The people of Jammu & Kashmir cannot afford to have a party in the government which has no real and effective say in the matters of governance. The coalition of contradictions and conflicts doesn’t suit the people of the state. The BJP believes that the Congress is simply shedding crocodile tears to hoodwink and mislead the people by making such untenable and ridiculous statements. It is easy to blame the NC in its political bid to deflect the attention of the suffering people of the state from the real issues, but the people are intelligent enough to understand the nature of the Congress’s politics of bluff and double-speak. The Congress led the government in the state between November 2005 and July 1, 2008, but did nothing whatsoever to honour the solemn promises it had made in its 2002 election manifesto, including the establishment of regional development board in Jammu, constitution of delimitation commission, implementation of Wazir Commission report and end of discrimination with Jammu,” said Prof Hari Om, adding that the “Congress has been deliberating failing the people of Jammu province and Ladakh region politically and economically to keep its Kashmiri masters on its right side so that it could enjoy the loaves and fishes of office at the cost of the people and the system,” said Hari Om.
Political advisor to the State BJP President further said that the Congress has lost all its political space in Jammu & Kashmir by pursuing policies which are not just anti-Jammu, anti-Ladakh and anti-minorities like the internally displaced Kashmiri Hindus and Sikhs, but are also pro-separatists. “The Congress stands for a separate status for Jammu & Kashmir, the NC stands for greater autonomy and the PDP stands for self-rule. There is no fundamental difference between these three formations as far as their attitude towards the state is concerned,” he said, and added that “the people of the state, like the rest of the country, have seen through the Congress’s game plan and are determined to punish it during the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections”. He warned that the Congress to reform itself without losing a single moment, failing which it would suffer the kind of defeat it suffered in the just-held Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Delhi.
