Air India to operate additional flight to Leh
Udhampur/Jammu, January 20 (Scoop News) – With a view to facilitate the passenger mainly truck drivers stranded at different locations on National Highway due to heavy snow and hostile weather conditions in the jurisdiction of Udhampur District, district administration today provided cooked meal at various points on National Highway.
The officials from civil and police administration were seen serving cooked meal to the stranded passengers at National Highway. The District administration has deployed water tankers to ensure drinking water facility. Mobile medicare teams along with doctors, paramedical staffs and adequate medicines have also been pressed into service to provide medicare facilities to the stranded passengers.
To keep a strict vigil on the quality and rates of eatables especially on National Highway, special checking squads comprising officers of CA&PD, Health, Legal Meteorology and Revenue Departments are randomly checking different establishments to ensure that there should be no overcharging from the general masses especially stranded passengers.
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, P.K Pole and district Officers of different departments were personally present to monitor the relief measures.
AI to operate additional flight to Leh
According to the Station Manager, Air India (AI) Jammu, Sanjiv Misri, the Air India is operating additional flight from Jammu to Leh on January 21, 2012.
The departure time of additional flight AI-4450 will be at 0945 hours. All stranded passengers of cancelled flight AI-450 on 20th January, 2012 are requested to reach the Airport by 8 am sharp.
