The writ of the Coordination committee in Kashmir has started losing its grip following infiltration of vested interests in the ongoing agitation in the Valley. This is evident from the weary Committee’s writ on the pattern to be adopted during the agitation was not honoured by the protesters.
The Coordination committee had,in its calendar, announced that during the protest rallies nobdy should indulge in violence. It had asked protesters to resort to peaceful demonstration and desist from pelting stones on security forces and Government and private vehicles. However,on Friday the protesters in Baramullah and Shopian indulged in violence and clashed with the police in which two protesters were killed and 50 injured in the retaliatory action by the security forces.
The Coordination Committee had not given a call for shutdown in Kashmir today. However, supporters of the JKLF forced a shutdown in Srinagar while protesting against police action in which their leader Mohd.Yasin Malik had been injured in violence yesterday.Reports said that some vested interests had sneaked into the ranks of protesters who were inciting people to violence which forced the security forces to open fire and resort to tear smoke.
