District medical and health department officials of Government of AP,India booked cases under the pre-natal diagnostic techniques (PNDT) Act against corporate hospitals and fertility centres in the city on Thursday and Friday. The Hyderabad district collector Mr R. Chandravadan fined Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda for Rs 15,000 and Anu Test Tube Baby Centre for Rs 20,000 for violating the PNDT Act.According to the DMHO, Dr Ch. Jaya Kumari, cases were booked against six hospitals. Vasavi at Lakadikapul, Kamini at Kavadiguda, Amalagiri at Punjagutta, Mahita at Musheerabad were also booked for violations like non-maintenance of records, lack of register and using two ultrasound machines on single register. “We have seized the ultrasound machines at all these hospitals,” said Dr Jaya Kumari -A DC report
