Country Music Artist, Miranda Lambert, released her most ambitious album of her career earlier this year and Country Music Association (CMA) voters responded by giving her a record-tying load of nominations.
It’s my opinion Lambert gives her all to country music and she never loses that fresh energetic performance she conveys to her audiences.
At the CMA’s, Lambert will have nine nominations she has earned, which will tie her own mark for the most nods to a female nominee; this doubles her nearest competitor as the list was today in New York.
Dierks Bentley comes in next with five nominations as Eric Church and Keith Urban have four a piece.
I’m an avid fan of all of the above mentioned country stars and I’ve seen several of them in concert and I say, “They are great performers and they hold an audience’s attention.”
Lambert who is 30-years-old is going up for the top honor entertainer of the year along with her husband Blake Shelton and has nominations for major categories album of the year for “Platinum,” song and single of the year for “Automatic” and is vying for her fifth straight female vocalist of the year trophy.
I saw Lambert in concert at the Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, and I say, “She can definitely belt out her songs in a fashion that wakes the audience up and keeps them focused on her abilities as a country artist.” She doesn’t give her audiences time to get bored because she gives a concert that’s energetic and displays that she loves doing what she knows how to do best.
Lambert and Bryan are seeking their first win in the coveted category of entertainer of the year as are Urban and George Strait. Urban and Bryan are also up for the album of the year. Bryan’s “Crash My Party” and Urban’s “Fuse” join Bentley’s “Riser” and Church’s “The Outsiders” in the category.
There are several new artists of the year nominees, i.e., Brandy Clark, Brett Eldredge, Kip Moore, Thomas Rhett and Cole Swindell.
There are several new artists arriving into country music and every one of them brings with them a different voice and style. This is what makes country music loved by so many fans. I look forward to hearing new artist and to see them getting a chance to let their audience hear their voices. It makes me ponder how long they had to stand on the street corners of Nashville, Tennessee trying to get noticed and signed.
My life was surrounded by the original country music sounds and I loved it. Country music tells a happy or a sad story and the singer is the one who brings it to life with their spirited voices and method of styles.
Don’t rule out Carrie Underwood this year because she has three nominations as does Bryan and Shelton who are tied with Kacey Musgrave’s and Carrie Underwood. ABC’s “Good Morning America” announced the nominations and at a news conference by Darius Rucker and Little Big Town. Underwood and Brad Paisley host the Nov. 5 show live from Nashville, Tennessee.
Lambert embellished out her list of nominations with two apiece in the vocal event (“Somethin’ Bad” with Underwood and “We Were Us” with Urban) and music video (“Automatic” and “Somethin’ Bad”) categories. “Automatic,” the first single from “Platinum,” was nominated for both song and single of the year as well.
Shelton and Lambert is also attempting to extend their record streak of wins by a married couple in the male and female vocalist categories. Each has won four straight. Lambert is competing against Underwood, Musgrave’s, Taylor Swift and Martina McBride as Shelton faces Bentley, Bryan, Church and Urban.
This gives voters an interesting choice to make in the entertainer of the year category. Lambert and Bryan are the genre’s top stars and voters could justifiably reward either with a trophy going hand in hand with superstar status. Strait seeks his second consecutive win in the category after announcing he will retire from the road; he played his final concert earlier in the year, setting attendance records at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium.
“The Voice” coach Shelton as well as “American Idol” judge Urban remain two of country’s most visible stars.
