Court frames charges against Sabeena, 4 others
Court framed charges against the kingpin of the sexual exploitation case, Sabeena and four of her accomplices under the Prevention of Illegal Trafficking Act (PITA), Monday. Principal Sessions Judge Srinagar, Muhammad Yaqoob Mir, today framed charges against five persons accused in the sexual exploitation scandal – kingpin Sabeena; her husband Abdul Hameed Bhala; Hilal Ahmad Shah, manager Mughal Darbar; Absar Ahmad Bhat, cashier police department and Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, shopkeeper.
The accused were arrested on August 3, and until now no charges had been framed against them.
The judge directed the Central Bureau of Investigations to produce witnesses on the next hearing. Counsel Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, who took over from S K Sain represented the agency.
The trail of the infamous sexual exploitation scandal has been going on in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) which had directed the Session’s Court to frame charges against the accused.
The session’s court after framing the charges sent the case back to CJM’s court and the next hearing has been fixed for November, 7, 2007.
