Not many people may have heard of Herb Peterson unless working at McDonald’s, one of the most popular and most known fast food chain and franchises home and abroad. McDonald’s has been a known sponsor of both the Winter and Summer Olympics. Wherever you travel rather domestically or over international waters, you are bound to run into at least a McDonald’s or two.
Whether you are in Washington DC, Manhattan, Toronto, Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris, or Moscow, there is at least one McDonald’s restaurant. One of the most notable items on the menu, which is served during the morning time is the Egg McMuffin. Herb Peterson is the man behind the Egg McMuffin. In a sense, Peterson is the father of all breakfast items served at a fast food restaurant.
Without the Egg McMuffin, one probably would not see similar breakfast items at Burger King or Sonic. To this very day, the Egg McMuffin is one of the items let alone breakfast items that serve as a flagship to McDonald’s.
Peterson died in his home in Santa Barbara peacefully in his sleep according to an official with McDonald’s.
Before introducing the Egg McMuffin, Peterson was responsible for the first national slogan for McDonald’s known as “Where Quality Starts Fresh Every Day.” In 1972, Peterson came up with the idea. Peterson liked eggs Benedict.
Most people should already know what the Egg McMuffin should look like. Without him, the Egg McMuffin would not come to be. It is known that Peterson loved McDonald’s a lot.
