Dalai Lama given rousing reception in Leh

Leh, Ladakh, July 20 (Scoop News) – A rousing reception was accorded to Dalai Lama  on his arrival to Thoise Airport at Nobra in Leh district.

Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh  Chhering Dorje, Deputy Commissioner, Leh  Tsering Wangchok, President LBA,  Lobzang Rinchen, President LGA Rev Togdan Rinpochey, MLA, Nobra Shri Tsetan Namgyal, receiving the visiting dignitary.

According to the reports received from Nubra, a large number of people were seen queued up along the road side in all the villages from Thoise Airport to Samstan-ling Gonpa to pay respects to Dalai Lama. Clad in colourful traditional dresses the people showered petals to His Holiness the Dalai Lama in a very devotional and cheerful ambience.

From Thoise Airport, Dalai Lama was brought to Samtanling Gonpa in a big motorcade.    

While arriving at Sanstan-ling Gonpa, Dalai Lama was given rousing reception by Galdan Thi Rinpochey, MLC, Shri Norboo Gyalson, Executive Councillor, Art and Culture Shri Tsering Angchok, Executive Councillor Minority Affairs Shri Mohd Khan, Councillor Shri Stanzin Delex and Councillor Deskit Shri Tsewang Rigzin, Monks, Nuns and a large number of men and women of the nearby villages poured in  to have darshan of Dalai Lama and listen to His sermons.

Dalai Lama was also given ceremonial reception by the Lamas   of Samstan-ling Gonpa, playing religious symphony and also by the local musicians in a traditional way.

As per the scheduled programme, Dalai Lama shall deliver sermon at Samstan-ling Gonpa from 9.10 AM to 11.30 AM tomorrow.
