According to official spokesman the District Development Commissioner, G. R. Bhagat alongwith District Superintendent of Police today conducted a tour of Padder area and chaired a joint meeting of the district officers, President/ General Secretaries of the Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Society, Padder regarding arrangements for the ensuing visit of Tibetan spiritual leader. The arrangements discussed during the meeting include road repairs from Kishtwar to Gulabgarh by GREF, black topping of roads from helipad to the Photang (venue), construction of compound wall of venue, flooring of main gate, arrangement of tents and furnishing for Lamas and pilgrims, carpet flooring of Pooja hall of venue, stage construction, supply of potable drinking water, power supply, medicare, supply of essentials including LPG, K.oil by the CA&PD, additional buses for pilgrims from Kishtwar and Sansari nullah to Gulab Garh and adequate telecommunication facilities by the BSNL authorities Kishtwar.
Addressing the meeting, the DDC asked the concerned departments to accelerate the process of furnishing the realistic estimates for the arrangements at the earliest and also work with synergy to make the proposed visit of the Dalai Lama a historical event for the district as a whole.
"The people of Paddar have been waiting for the visit of Dalai Lama to their area for the past several years and their happiness crossed all limits when they came to know that Dalai Lama is visiting their area. Enthusiasm has gripped Buddhist dominated area of Padder.
