Gang members Damon Hill, 26, and Jarrell Kelly, 20, have been charged with murder for the 2006 killing of 18-year-old actor Armand Jones.
The murder took place in the early morning hours of March 17, 2006 and stemmed from an armed robbery. After Damon Hill and Jarrell Kelly robbed his friends in the bathroom of a Denny’s restaurant, Armand Jones chased the two into the parking lot where they opened fire, hitting him in the chest and another victim in the head. Jones died after stumbling back into the Denny’s.
Damon Hill and Jarrell Kelly are already serving jail time for unrelated crimes. If they are convicted of the charges against them including murder, attempted murder, robbery and gang activity, they could face life in prison without parole.
At the time of his death, Armand Jones had just had the first big break in his acting career. He had just finished work on the film "Freedom Writers" where he acted alongside Hillary Swank.
