This matchmaking agency hooked me up with a blind date. Since they charge an insane amount, I thought maybe this could work – an eligible, available guy, finally.
So we met. He’s not hunky or funny but nice. Polite, with a good career, neat, quite soft spoken.
We went through the main course, after which the waiter asked if we wanted dessert – special turkish desserts were on offer from the kitchen.
"No, it’s ok ," I said
"Are you sure? I’ll be paying for this you know" he said (earnestly, not in jest.)
(Me, a little appalled over his demeaning statement but still managed a civilised reply.) "No, I really don’t want dessert, I’m full."
I can’t believe a guy would actually say something like that to a girl he only just met and it was not even said teasingly. I felt like walking away from him at that point but I guessed I was a little floored by his behaviour.
So if guys are really eligible, would they be signing up for matchmaking agencies in the first place? After all, eligible guys are hot properties.
