Dead bodies of avalanche victims were shifted by feet/by road to their ancestral grave yards.
CHITRAL: Dead bodies of Chitral scouts martyred under a heavy avalanche at Ziarat post were shifted by road and carrying on shoulders by feet to their native villages where they were laid to rest at their ancestral grave yards. Their dead bodies were kept at Chitral Scouts hospital waiting for Helicopter service to shift them to upper Chitral. As Helicopter could not flied due to bad weather and roads of upper Chitral are blocked after heavy snowfall and land sliding. Meanwhile on the special request of Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan the district government also deployed Border Security Forces (Border Police) for installing broken electricity poles (LT) light transmission and high transmission lines poles for restoration of power supply to Balach, Singoor villages and DHQ Hospital Chitral and they succeeded on Saturday. They restored supply of electricity from the local hydro power house at Singoor hence power supply from national Grid Station Dir is suspended because of breaking of HT poles and cable passing over the peak of Lawari pass. It will take weeks Pesco Chitral official said to this scribe as well as it was not ascertained that how many poles have been broken on Lawari top.
Meanwhile Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have deputed tractors and dozer for removing snow from the Run-way of Chitral airport so as to enable it for PIA Scheduled flights which is suspended for the last one week.
