In the latest line of assaults coming from DNC Chairman Howard Dean, GOP frontrunner John McCain how looks to have his integrity attacked. Dean has decided to attack McCain on his integrity. This was on CNN’s Late Edition on Sunday, March 2.
“Here’s a guy who has a typical situation ethicist. He runs on his integrity, but he doesn’t seem to have any,” Dean said in regards to McCain.
For the last week, Dean has launched an offensive against McCain in terms of financing such as questioning the $4 million dollar loan McCain received back in 2007 in order to keep his campaign afloat. Dean also launched the offensive on McCain when McCain opted out of public financing for the Republican primary races. McCain is one of the people instrumental to the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law back in 2001.
Dean filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC). He had accused McCain of using federal funds to get the bank loan along with dodging federal spending limits. The Democrats have been launching an offensive against McCain in terms of federal spending for the campaign.
“John McCain has a history of doing what it takes, regardless of what the ethics of this are,” Dean said continuing with his offensive. He added: “I think he’s going to be a flawed candidate.”
McCain’s campaign had yet to respond.
In the offensive against McCain, Dean would cite the tie which was onetime with Charles Keating who was an executive of a savings-and-loan that was jailed. Dean also attacked McCain on accepting the endorsement from televangelist and mega-church pastor John Hagee who has had a history of criticizing the Catholic Church.
In Hagee’s book, he had given the suggestion that Adolf Hilter was a Catholic. McCain has come under fire from Catholics for accepting Hagee’s endorsement.
In the controversy, Dean decided to hit McCain in his integrity.
