Five young Buddhist monks demanded Thein Sein government to stop civil war, to free all political prisoners in Myanmar, to provide people with genuine freedom and to make peace all around the country. They talked about peace and current conflicts between people and government in the afternoon after discussing with the chief Buddhist monk in Mandalay. Protesting monks confirmed that they had agreed to continue reporting to higher Buddhist religious authorities.
Around 3 o’clock, they moved to the old Masoyein Monastery in western part of Mandalay, being followed by over 200 monks and people. When those young monks arrived in the compound of the monastery, they held a meeting with senior monks for about 2 hours. Finally good news came out for their success according to which their demands would be transferred to the President as soon as possible. Meeting local journalists, they narrated whatever they had discussed and answered to questions.
They told press that there will be talks about peace from November 16 to 19 at the old Masoyein Monastery. Those talks will be presented from 1 o’clock to 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
Not only local people in Mandalay but also everyone in Myanmar expects that all political prisoners will be freed soon.
