A Victory for democratic forces Democracy is the best revenge, these are the words of Benazir Bhutto, the assassinated leader of Pakistan’s largest political party. It seems to have proven right today when a dictator has finally packed up from the Presidential Palace, the democratic forces are celebrating their victory, peoples are dancing on the streets, chanting slogans in the favor of democracy and describing their happiness by raising their hands with a victory symbol. It was non other than the outgoing President who more than once said on the various forums that the chapter has been closed for Benazir Bhutto (then alive) and Nawaz Sharif (the leader of the second largest party). Pervaiz Musharraf used to say that the two leaders would never be allowed to comeback and no more role is left for them to take part in the politics of Pakistan. However the time has proved him wrong, same as his other decisions like imposing the emergency, breaking the constitution, suspending the judges and putting them under house arrest, arresting their own people and handing over them to some foreign countries without intimating the court of law, let the other countries allowed to bomb the territories of his own country ect. The charge sheet could have been a very long one if it would have presented in the parliament for impeachment. Now all the eyes are on ruling coalition who has to decide about the future setup of Pakistan’s political structure. They have to decide not only that who would be the next President of Pakistan but they have to decide upon the distribution of powers between the President and the Prime Minister. With the victory of political forces the revenge to dictatorship has taken its place. Pakistan is standing at the decisive moment. Any blunder at this moment could have prevent the political forces to put the last nail in the dictator’s coffin. http://www.mashhood64.blogspot.com http://hubpages.com/profile/Mash+99
