An alliance of nationalist organisations of Kashmir has announced to organise a peaceful demonstration on Friday to press the governments in Islamabad and New Delhi not to delay the launch of the proposed Srinagar-Muzaffarabad truck service.
Prof Abdur Razzaq Khan Khalique, spokesman for the All Parties National Alliance (Apna), told a news conference here on Monday that the nationalist elements and members of civil society would stage a demonstration in the Chakothi.
“The demonstration would reflect people’s resolve to revive peace and their desire to get trade between Muzaffarabad and Srinagar launched because it would generate and boost economic activities in the region and help solve problems of the people,” he said.
Prof Khalique called for opening all natural routes between the divided
Kashmir to advance the confidence-building process and said it would not only revitalise the broken relations but also address economic problems of the people.
