Democratic nominees Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have made their parties primaries tight as advertised. Both are projected to win four states a piece in the early stages of Super Tuesday.
Clinton is looking to wrap up wins in New York, Massachussetts, New Jersey, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Obama in the meantime has staked claim to Georgia, Delaware, Alabama, and Illinois. There are other swing states in which the Illinois senator is ahead such as Connecticut, Idaho, and New Mexico. Clinton is in the same position in various othr states as well.
Meanwhile on the Republican side, Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee became a big player in the party primaries by turning into an obstacle that his Massachussetts counterpart Mitt Romney has to overcome. This makes Romney’s situation more pressing after in order to catch up to the Arizona senator who is predicted to win four states early on. Huckabee also surprised when he won in the state of West Virginia with well over 50% and is currently leading in his home state. In Massachussetts, Romney is projected to win but by a closer margin than expected. The biggest surprise of all was McCain handily beating Romney in crucial northeast state like New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
But there is still time for all candidates to make their final push as the west coast states will remain open for a little less than two hours from now.
