Actor Dennis Farina was arrested Sunday at Los Angeles LAX airport after security officials noticed he had a loaded, semiautomatic, .22 caliber gun in his carry-on luggage. The Chicago-Sun Times reported the story of their hometown native here.

Farina had driven with the gun from his Arizona home to Los Angeles for the premiere of his latest film "What Happens in Vegas." Farina, an actor famous for playing Detective Joe Fontana on TV series Law & Order, is also a former cop from Chicago. He is 64 years old.
Initially Farina was to be charged with a misdemeanor but authorities upgraded the charges to a felony when it was revealed that the gun is not registered.
Dennis Farina was held on $35,000 bail for the charge.
Farina’s other film credits include Midnight Run, Saving Private Ryan, Snatch and Reindeer Games.
