A grade six pupil after failing to make the grade committed suicide yesterday. While thousands of her peers shouted in jubilation after scoring Five A’s in their Primary School Examination, the victim, subashini, sulked and went to her room.
The top grade in this examination is Five A’s. Subashini only managed to score 4B’s, Ic and 1D. That, however is not what she expected. She had hoped for a top score too, after really struggling for it.
Back in her room Subashini was frustrated and depressed. However, her parents thought her score was okay. So they left her, apparently to cry it over.
Subashini, however, was not forgiving, not even to herself. She was found hanged from the iron-grill of their window. Apparently, she punished herself.
