Deputy CM asks officers to speed up survey process

Srinagar, October 06 (Scoop News) –   Deputy Chief Minister  Tara Chand has asked the officers to come up with a comprehensive drainage plans for Srinagar city for which Rs. 15 crore stands already released, to make the city more beautiful and attractive.

The Deputy Chief Minister was reviewing progress of development works taken up under urban development in Srinagar city at an officers meeting held here today.

Among others, Vice Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority, Khawaja Farooq RenzuShah, Director Local Bodies,  Shamim Ahmad Laherwal, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr. G.N.Qasba besides former Corporators and political leaders were present on the occasion.

Describing drainage an important component of the development plans framed for a particular place or locality, the Deputy Chief Minister underlined need for proper evaluation of the areas coming under Srinagar Master Plan. 

The Deputy Chief Minister asked officers to speed up the survey process of the areas of Srinagar Master Plan so that a vision document is prepared early. He directed them to keep in account the present and future civic needs while formulating master plan of the city.

 Tara Chand said the consultation of public representatives in this matter can go a long way in framing a long term and vision document. He said Government is always focusing on framing plans as per the needs of the people and directed officers to keep in account the expansion of Srinagar city while framing development plans.
