Srinagar, October 01 (Scoop News) – Development of Lakhanpur-Bani-Basohli-Sarthal tourist circuit has been taken up under Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Programme (PP) at a cost of Rs. 7.99 crore and Rs. 6.39 crore has been released till date by the Centre for its development.
This information was given by Minister of State for Tourism, Nasir Aslam Wani in reply to a question by Lal Chand in the Legislative Assembly here today.
He said that ending August this year, Rs. 4.7 crore have been incurred on development of infrastructure of varied sorts under the circuit and added that construction of Art Development Centre, Basohli and Tourist Development Centre at Sarthal have been completed. He said the work on Viewing Corridor, Basohli, wayside amenities at Bhoond and Tourist Complex Bani are in progress.
The Minister said that construction of tourist complex at Bani is in progress and so far over Rs. 2.19 crore have been incurred on its execution.
Replying to another question by Krishan Chand Bhagat, the Minister said that development work of health resort Mantalai and other adjourned areas has been entrusted to Patnitop Development Authority, adding that all the tourist resorts of the areas would be developed in a phased manner after formulation of detailed project report.
Replying to supplementaries raised by Harshdev Singh, Jagdish Sapolia, Ashwani Kumar Sharma and Balwant Singh Mankotia, the Minister said that the remaining tourist resorts falling in their respective constituencies would also be developed. He said that the construction work of Jammu Cable Car Project would be completed within one and a half years.
Rs. 33.87 lakh relief provided to Doda, Ramban road victims: Bhalla
Speaker stresses on speeding up land settlement operation
The Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today informed the Legislative Assembly that an amount of Rs. 33.87 lakh out of Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and District Red Cross Fund have been disbursed amongst 247 victims of road accidents in twin districts of Doda and Ramban.
Replying to a question by Ashok Kumar, the Minister said that an amount of Rs. 7.97 lakh of Calamity Relief Fund (CRF) and SDRF funds have been also disbursed among the victims of fire incidents of Doda and Ramban districts through respective Deputy Commissioners.
The Minister said that there is no rehabilitation policy, as of now, for those orphans whose parents become victims of the road accidents. He, however, said that these orphans, like other orphans are also entitled to availing the benefits of the schemes of Social Welfare Department.
The Minister informed the House that so far as the rehabilitation policy in respect of orphans whose parents have lost their lives in flash floods, fire incidents, earthquakes and other notified natural calamities are concerned, they are entitled to all the assistance admissible under Calamity Relief Fund norms.
Giving details of road accidents and fire incidents of Ramban and Doda districts during last two years, the Minister said that 988 road accidents and 74 fire incidents have occurred in these twin districts during the same period.
Replying to another question by Ch. Sukhnandan, the Minister said that land settlement process in Marh constituency is in progress and after completion of settlement work the pass books would be issued to all the farmers of the area. He, however, said that prior to the conduct of settlement of operations in the area, 2515 pass books had been issued to the farmers, adding that no pass book has been issued to the farmers of Marh constituency during 2009-10 and 2010-2011 as the entire area was under settlement operation.

On the directions of Speaker, Mohammad Akabar Lone, the Minister assured the House that land settlement operation in all areas of the State would be expedited and completed very soon for issuance of pass books to the farmers.
