Jammu, November 13 (Scoop News) – Under Civic Action Mountaineering Programme 30 students drawn from different backward /rural area were flagged off for Adventure Sports Camp by Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda in a function held here at Balidan Stumbh near Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu .
The children’s were drawn form different backward areas of Doda, Poonch, Rajouri, Amgrota, Akhnoor,R.S.Pora for par participation in Adventure Sports Camp being organized by J&K Police.
This education adventurous Sports Camp being organized under CAP of J&K Police involves basic mountaineering/trekking pitching skills and other adventurous sports related techniques being conducted at different venues viz Surinsar.Mansar,Chinore,Jajjar Kotli by experts mountaineering team of J&K Police. The aim of this camp is to introduce basic skills of Trekking ,Mountaineering ,Rock Climbing ,ZIP Wire River crossing, Tent Pitching etc. to the selected students enabling them to take the fullest advantage of natural resources suitable for such Sports activities available in their respective areas which they could not exploit professionally due to lack of their basic knowledge in these field of Adventurous Sports. Adventure Sports activities have vast potential at National/International Level and this sport shall definitely ever last to these students and shall attract them in field of Adventurous Sports and ultimately they can choose these activities as their future career.
J&K Police is credited with organizing of regular Civic Action Programs beneficial to the people of J&K State belonging to economically ,Socially, Backward and Downtrodden Societies. Besides ,sports activities and Watten-Ki-Sair, Bharat Darshan like educational programmes are also being regularly organized for youth /students of J&K State under Civic Action Programme of J&K Police through out the year.
The flagged off ceremony was participated by ADsGP, IsGP, DIsG,SSsP and Commandant of Jammu based Armed /IRP battalions.
It is pertinent to mention that J&K Police is shortly going to impart free sports coaching and provide free sports kit material to aspiring students/youths of Kashmir/Jammu divisions in other different games/events being organized by the department in two phases. First phase of the camp for youths belonging to Kashmir division has been scheduled to commence in December 2010 at Jammu whereas the youths belonging to Jammu division the event is scheduled to be held in Kashmir June 2011. This arrangement has been made keeping in view the examination schedule of the students both in summer as wee as winter Zone of the State.
