Srinagar, March 01 (Scoop News) – Dy. Inspector General of Police(DIG), Civil Defence, Home Guards and Auxiliary Police, Kashmir, Mubarak Ahmed Ganai, held conference with Civil Defence Wardens and CD Volunteers of Srinagar today. The conference was attended by Deputy Chief Wardens Mauzam Bakshi, Aamir Ali and officiating Dy. Controller, Shabir Ahmed Khan ASI(M). The meeting was also attended by Divisional Wardens Gazanfar Ali, Rahi Riyaz, Imtiaz Ahmed Bhat, Dilshada, Syed Muzaffar and Post Wardens, Saleem Hilal, Muzaffar Jan, as well as Sector Wardens Imtiaz Ahmed Khan, Imran Khan, Muzaffar Ahmed Tramboo and Irshad Ahmed Shala.
DIG impressed upon the CD volunteers to boost the activities of the organisation and train as many volunteers in disaster preparedness, so that in the event of any disaster they can save their own lives and that of others. He directed that the CD activities which were earlier town and city specific need to be taken to the grass root and upto village level. He appreciated the voluntary spirit of the youth and implored upon the CD wardens to ensure proper coordination with all stake holders. He ordered that at least one Post Warden or Sector Warden would be deployed, within the jurisdiction of every Police Station, whose activities would be monitored by Deputy/Divisional Wardens under the guidance of Deputy Chief Wardens and overall supervision of Chief Warden.
Earlier, Mauzam Bakshi gave a resume of the activities of Civil Defence in Srinagar. Aamir Ali also spoke on the occasion. A message was conveyed on behalf of Chief Warden Srinagar, Omar Nedou, who could not attend the conference, due to some emergency. The CD volunteers expressed their appreciation to the DIG for interacting with the grass root level volunteers.
