Srinagar, November 12, (Scoop News)- Mohammad Dilawar Mir, General Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has tendered his resignation from his post.
This comes in wake of a recent verdict against him by a Delhi court.
Accepting the offer of Mir to step down from the party post, the party president, Ms Mehbooba Mufti said it was a hard decision for her but given the fact that Mir had taken a moral call on the issue; he has set high moral standards of public probity.
Mehbooba expressed the hope that Mir who has sought a legal remedy against the verdict would soon come out clean on the issue.
The resignation letter sent by Mr Mohammad Dilawar Mir was received by the party president, Mehbooba Mufti today.
