Political stability is pre-requisite of the political,social and economic development of the state.The stability of political institutions are essential for the stability of other institutions in the society.Pakistan’s political system has been in the transitional state ever since its inception in Augst 1947. Pakistan has not been able to established a strong,stable and permanant political order based on moral and democratic values. From the very begining Pakistan faced a constitutional deadlock which resulted in the destruction of political, social and economic order and due to this Pakistan was deprived of a respectable place in the comity of nations.
Though Pakistan possesses the political apparatus for the smooth running of a democratic system in a country but unfortunately those responsible for its smooth running do not have the will, patience, stamina and character to culminate it in a strong democratic set-up.Pakistani politics is restricted to a politics of vendetta,ignorance,intollerance,exploitation and totally unacceptable democratic order.
Many reasons can be put forward for the wobbling political system of Pakistan but the most important and wothmentioning are that
the political parties carry their works out in a disorganized manner,
weak party structure
absence of democratic set-up within the party ranks
lack of stable political institutions
power politics
horse-trading
paucity of dedicated political leadership
Due to these unacceptable and undemocratic phenomena of Pakistani politics voilence,hatred and polarization in the socity occures which divides the society into hostile factions which destroy the very foundation of the country and this is the main reason that Pakistani nation loss a brave and dedicated internationally renowned political figure of Ms.Benazir Bhutto on 27th of December,2007.Why such incident occured? the answer is very simple, the political parties had not developed the political culture among the masses as a political culture is particular distribution of political attitudes,values,feelings,information and skills. Moreover they were not allowed to develope their faculties of thoughts,expression,character etc.They neither were given nor were thought about their fundamental rights.
Now,it is upto the political parties to evolve a true political culture within the society to make it democratic and civilized one,so that incident like December 27 does not repeat.
