Dirty Politics

The concept of sequestration was originally promoted by President Obama (check his speeches) but somewhere along the way in an attempt to besmirch the Republican Congress, he began promulgating doom and gloom and threatened that the sequester would bring about quick and devastating results; inordinate airline delays, school teacher layoffs and more. Further he squarely placed the blame on the Republican congress accusing that this was their idea and that they were sabotaging the middle class of America and that he never wanted it to get to this point. Ironic as it was his idea and he refused to compromise with Congress who was more than willing to discuss the necessary significant spending cuts that the government should and could have made without inflicting harm on anything on anyone critical.

But no, Obama would force the sequestration in the hopes that the American public would be stupid enough to buy his rhetoric and believe the lies and distortions that he and the media put out there, fomenting fear and uncertainty. Just before it took place on March 1st, he then backtracked and conceded that it wouldn’t be the Armageddon as he had so emphatically suggested just a short while earlier.

Actually quite the opposite has happened as the public now sees the absurdity of the sequestration. None of the dire overnight horrors came about. There were no funds available for the TSA members who were going to be laid off but there were certainly enough found for $50 million for new uniforms. The illusion that teachers were getting pink slips was disavowed by truths that slipped out. Oh, and Kerry found $250 million to give to Egypt while so many of our own people are unemployed, homeless and starving. A country that has ties to terrorist nations who are out to destroy us and which is also an enemy of Israel, our greatest ally. And then cutbacks to our military to boot? What an insult to all of those incredible folks who put their lives of the line for us every day.

What the hell is going on with this administration?  Whose side are they on, risking another back slide into recession by failing to create the jobs that they ran their platform on all the while blaming the Republicans for the inherited economic mess we have now. You can’t blame anyone else but yourself for failure since the last four years were your responsibility and the now we bear the results of those failed policies. The attempt to denigrate the Congress so when mid-term elections come in 2014, is disgusting and deceitful. The strategy of gaining the seats of congress by spreading falsehoods of intimidation would if successful, literally create a monarchy and then this President would have no limits on his power; a very scary scenario. Where are the checks and balances. He already won his tax raises and wants more so he can spend more.

You cannot spend your way out of a deficit. It does not work and continually kicking the proverbial can down the road only creates a more virulent economic problem. The correct economic approach is to curtail unnecessary government spending on non-productive no return things and lower taxes across the board to influence spending by the consumer who drives the economy. If you reduce their tax burden they will have more money to spend, putting it back into the system. And get rid of the Estate tax; the government has no right to take 55% of what you and your family have worked your entire life for and on which have paid taxes all along. "No taxation without representation…"

It is time to focus on making our country energy independent, fix our fiscal policies and stop aiding and abetting our enemies who time and time again use our resources against us.

Let us not forget the Bengahzi cover up either. Months later and still no truths as to who was responsible for those lost lives. Survivors kept quiet and out of the public eye and earshot. Where’s the justice? If a Republican did the same thing, he’d have been impeached for it. Very dirty politics; shameful if not criminal…..

And speaking of our Republican friends if they would just get the moral crap out of their agenda, leave women to their own rights and keep the religion and gender issues out of their platform. No place for them in politics; this is the land of the free. Then maybe they as a party would be credible and not threatening to anyone’s lifestyle and would get this country back on track with a majority vote. Here’s hoping!
