Jammu, April 8, (Scoop News)-Sikhs in the state are most discriminated; this was stated by the State Executive Committee Member & BJP Leader Adv. Amreek Singh while addressing media persons and members of Sikh community in a press conference held at party headquarters today. S. Amreek Singh was flanked by State Spokesperson Dr. Nirmal Kamal, BJP State Secretary and Prabhari Poonch Constituency S. Charanjeet Singh, Senior Leader Prof. Virender Singh and Gurcharan Singh Pamma.
Elaborating his viewpoint S. Amreek Singh appreciated the BJP manifesto for Lok Sabha elections 2014, released yesterday, wherein a commitment is made to provide justice to the PoK refugees of 1947 who are still struggling on the roads to get their rightful compensation and other demands including representation in the State Assembly. Taking a dig at present ruling government, he reminded that no representation is given to Sikhs in the state in either houses of Assembly and Council. S. Amreek Singh recalled that Sikhs of India have contributed tremendously in the freedom struggle which is a widely known. This was confessed even by BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi also recently in election rally at Hiranagar when he specially made reference of Jalianwala Bagh incident also and further said they are discriminated and injustice is meted out to them as this community became victim in post-independence period in 1984 riots but yet the victims are awaiting for the justice till now.
Lambasting at Congress-the main culprit, Amreek Singh reiterated that Rahul Gandhi too confessed that some senior Congress leaders were involved in the riots and killing of innocent Sikhs in 1984. Ansari Commission report was submitted to the government but the then Congress in the Centre did not take any cognizance of the matter. Understanding the apathetic attitude and trust deficit of the NC-Congress government in the State, S. Amreek Singh appealed before the Sikh Community to vote and support BJP candidates contesting Parliamentary elections in various constituencies of the state. Vote to BJP candidates means installing of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of the country and Narendra Modi as future Prime Minister means prosperity of the Nation and therefore, peace and tranquility as is projected in the BJP’s manifesto which is the need of the hour.
