Srinagar, April 28 (Scoop News) –Civil Defence, Srinagar and Divisional Disaster Management Authority, Kashmir organised five day disaster preparedness and civil defence basic training course at Government High School Panthachowk, under Urban Risk Reduction Project, which concluded today. Around 100 paricipants including students, teachers and school Principal Mrs. Syed Akhtar participated in the training. Prominent trainers during the training were Deputy Controller, Rafiq Ahmed, Head Disaster Management, Aamir Ali, Civil Defence Trainers, ASI Mohammed Afzal, Ghulam Nabi and Feroze Gulzar, besides First aid trainers from Health Department Dr. Jahangir Bakshi, Dr. Rauf and Dr. Arshad.
During the training two dedicated senior Civil Defence Volunteers, Mohammed Sultan Mir and Zahoor Ahmed Mir, Proprietors of HRCC Pvt. Ltd Athwajan, voluntarily deputed their men, machinery and material including tractor, tipper and road roller for upgradation of the link road from main road upto the Govt High School Panthachowk, as a contribution from their Corporate Social Responsibility. Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Baseer Ahmed Khan, who is also the Controller of Civil Defence and Deputy Inspector General of Police, Civil Defence, Home Guards and SDRF, Mubarak Ahmed Ganai and the Principal of the School have appreciated the gesture of the dedicated Civil Defence Volunteers in contributing to the development of the school, from their own resources.
