With ousting of G. M Saroori former Roads and Buildings
minister, there is no representation in cabinet from erstwhile Doda district
comprised of four districts as on now. Udhampur, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar are
the districts which have no representatives in cabinet while as from Jammu
district there are only three ministers in cabinet, Deep Singh, K.K Rao and Dr.
G.S Charak of All J&K Movement for Peace & Justice said. On the one
hand Congress is being debased by its own ministers on the pretext of
corruption and on the other it could not cope up with the issues of
international and national level as per the wishes of common masses across the
country as well as in state.

Congress in state in the name of socialism and secularism
manages to get elected at various assembly segments but later fails to deliver
as elected members turn selfish and forget the ideology upon which party is
based, a senior political analyst opined and added that coalition politics has
also added salt to the wounds of common people because a minister hardly
remains in a position to take a decision in the interest of state and its
people while in coalition.

When contacted JKPCC Chief Prof Saif-u-Din-Soz, who is in
Delhi for certain political engagement, refused to comment on telephone by
saying that it is not a subject to be discussed on phone. Senior Congress
leader, MLA Bhaderwah and close relative of union health minister Ghulam Nabi
Azad, Mohmmad Sharief Naiz when asked as to why party high command was delaying
the process, replied that earlier high command in Delhi was busy with Obama’s
visit besides there are big issues to be sorted out. But in near future likely during
Parliament session working committee members, General Secretaries and other
portfolios are to be distributed and hopefully inducting a cabinet minister
from the area is possible. Replying to a query Naiz said that National
Conference has nothing to do with it as it is party’s internal affair.

Senior politicians and BJP leader, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta
termed coalition as time consuming and opportunistic because according to him
leaders and ministers are hardly concerned with the welfare of people. “They
are for their own interest, otherwise there must have been immediate
replacement for the relief of people of the area”, he added. Another politician
and MLA Ramnagr, Harsh Dev Singh said that minister is for entire state and has
to deliver but tussle between Congress to Congress; NC to NC and then Congress
to NC has forced people of the state to suffer. He while hinting over non
representation of Udhampur district in cabinet for the last several years said
these ministers are for their self interests and not for the public.
