The legislator urged the government to withdraw Disturbed Areas Act from safer areas maintaining that the same was within its competence and a factor in 8-point formula of the Centre announced in the backdrop of unrest. He strongly opposed slapping of Public Safety Act (PSA) on the youth. He also called for taking effecting measures to check corruption by strengthening institutional mechanism.
He urged for implementing the recommendations of the Working Groups constituted by the Prime Minister to lend credibility to the commissions and committees formed by the government from time to time. He said non implementation of recommendations creates trust deficit and fuels unrest.
Tarigami said government must improve basic amenities to the rural areas especially bijli, sadak and pani. He said rural areas just receive 2- hour electricity even today. He called for taking appropriate measures to strengthen Accountability and Human Rights Commissions and incorporation of 73rd and 74th constitutional amendment to strengthen the democratic institutions at the grass route level even as he appreciated the appointment of Information Commissioner.
Abdul Haq Khan alleged that FIRs are lodged against youth in Lolab despite being peaceful with no incidence of stone pelting. He said such measures lead to insecurity among the people especially youth. He said people in Lolab are facing scarcity of essential commodities and called for its redressal. He sought compensation for flash flood victims of Kupwara district at par with Ladakh.

Saroori demanded Chenab Hill Development Council for Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts to have due share in the allotment of funds for development.
