Jammu, October 03 (Scoop News)- The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Mr Pardeep Gupta today asked the Oil Companies and distributors to expedite the process of verification and ensure that registered consumers get the supply of Cooking Gas without any problem.
Chairing a meeting of the representatives of Oil Companies, LPG distributors and the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Department functionaries, the Div Com asked the concerned to clear the confusions prevailing amongst the consumers about the norms for verification and revised system of LPG distribution.
He informed that on the directions of Government of India the registered consumer would get six subsidized LPG cylinders a year. However, he said there would be no cap on non-subsidized ones and a registered consumer can get the same at any time.
The Meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Director CA&PD, Jammu, Parvez Malik, Deputy Director Information (PR), Jammu, Mrs. Jyoti Slathia, State level Coordinator, Divisional Manager (Indian Oil Corporation Jammu), R. K. Shahab, President (ACTF), Yash Pal Gupta, President, (CWA), Vikram Gour, President Chamber and Commerce, Y.V. Sharma, representatives of all Public Sector Oil Companies, LPG distributers of all Oil Companies including Sh. Devinder Batra and Sh. Siddarth Sharma.
Gupta asked all the concerned to make concerted efforts to make the consumers conversant with the norms and requirements for the verification of their LPG connections.
The Divisional Commissioner further directed to formulate an effective and smooth mechanism with great sense of urgency to complete the verification process in shortest span of time so that the consumers do not face any inconvenience in getting the Cooking Gas cylinders.
The meeting was informed that owing to heavy load on distributors in wake of verification of the old connections, the issuance of fresh connections have been put on hold for the time being. It was further told that the fresh connections would be issued after completing all legal formalities.
The meeting further informed that if there are two connections on same address, one would be blocked as per the directives of government of
Director CAPD, Parvez Malik informed the meeting that for any query, the general public is advised to contact on toll free No 1967 of the Department.
He said that the consumers can get their connections verified by producing an authentic proof of identity and the proof of residential address. For the proof of identity PAN Card, Electoral Photo Identity Card, Driving License, Central or State Government Identity Cards or Passports. For the proof of residence they can produce their Electricity Bill, Telephone Bill, House/Land Registration Documents, Registered Rent Deed, Rent Receipt or House Allotment/Possession document. These documents have to be attached with the duly filled LPG Connection KYC (Know Your Customer) forms.
The KYC forms are available with the LPG Distributors, Websites of all Oil Companies and the website of Directorate of CAPD,
