New Delhi, August 02 (Scoop News)-The Delhi Media Centre for Research & Publications Trust (DMCRPT), a DUJ initiative, has reconstituted and revamped its committees to give a more professional edge to its functioning for the journalists’ community and also to have small workshops for education for advancement in the profession without any age barrier.
In a statement S K Pande,Director,DMCRPT said that the Trust, which was formed with the initial backing of the Appan Menon Trust will now have a small Foreign Affairs Discussion Forum, a Film & Theatre Discussion Forum, an Urdu Journalists Forum, an Economic Affairs Forum, Environmental Forum, Development Journalism Forum, Media Analysis Forum, South Asian Journalists and Press Workers Forum, a freelancers forum and a Current Affairs Forum.
Statement said that it would also have a committee on scientific temper in the profession, communal reporting in the media, minority reporting in the media and the coverage of riots and situations of conflicts and a committee on reporting of trade union issues in the media and reportage of the woes of scribes and press workers and on issues related to environment & disability affairs.
In the background of the tragedy that struck Uttarakhand recently, it has also constituted a committee on disaster reporting. It already has a functional Gender Equity Council and an Ethics Council.
On the third anniversary of its formation, the trust will organize a colourful function in the capital by August end.
