Do not test the Patience of Kashmiri Hindus

Kashmir Hindu Foundation Inc, (KHF) is deeply concerned to hear news reports about deteriorating condition of the Chairman, All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) Mr. Vinod Pandit who is sitting on fast unto death for past 13 days at Porbandar in Gujarat-India in support of demands of Kashmiri Hindus.

Some of the demands include, probe into the multi-crore temple/shrines land encroachment in Kashmir and Passing of the pending Kashmir Temples and Shrines Bill in J&K Legislative Assembly.

These demands have been raised from time to time with the government but unfortunately the government has ignored the sentiments of the minority Kashmiri Hindu community in Kashmir. KHF strongly demands that immediate steps be initiated towards fulfilling the charter of demands submitted to both Central and State governments. The State Government has failed to provide safety and security to religious shrines of Hindus in Kashmir and it is their duty to fulfill its moral obligations towards the minority community in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

It is unfortunate that a peaceful community has to resort to such extreme measures in order to get attention from the government. The community cannot sit silent and let one of its soldier sacrifice his life because of callous attitude of a government that failed to provide basic security to its loyal citizens, only because they were Hindus. Omar led government in the state and the UPA Government in the center cannot continue to sit silent over the very sensitive issue of Kashmiri Hindus and test their patience.
