While Senator Chris Dodd has given his endorsement and support to Democratic co-frontrunner Senator Barack Obama, he has given his insight and thoughts about the Democratic race and the current state of the Democratic Party. Dodd said that the current state of the Democratic race is damaging to the Democratic Party.
In addition, Dodd has given his conclusion that Obama will be the Democratic nominee. But, he said that it was time that the Democratic race has ended.
“We’ve got five more months to go before the Democratic convention at the end of August and, candidly, we cannot go five more months with the kind of daily sniping that’s going on and have a candidate emerge in that convention,” Dodd had explained. But, he said that the DNC leaders must reach a conclusion to the race.
The bitterness between Obama and Clinton supporters has been apparent. A recent Gallop poll released has revealed that about twenty-nine percent of Democrats that support Clinton would defect to the side of GOP nominee Senator John McCain if Obama wins the Democratic nomination.
In short, Dodd urged that a compromise had to be reached.
