Dog overexcited,shoots owner dead!

When a dog bites a man it is not news but when a man bites dog it is a weird news. Likewise when a man shoots dog nothing is new in that, but what about when a dog shoots a man?

Yes, an  overexcited dog has accidentally shot and killed its owner on a goose-hunting trip in Texas. The real incident goes so: Perry Price, a 46-year-old math teacher, had just shot a goose and went back to his pick-up truck to let his dog out to go find it in the brush.

He leaned over the bed of the truck and lay his shotgun down inside as he unhooked the tailgate, his hunting companion told investigators.

The shotgun pellets went through the truck’s tailgate and struck Price, a avid hunter, in the thigh.

His friend rushed Price to a hospital just a few kilometres away but the pellets had severed an artery and Price could not be saved. He was pronounced dead on Saturday night .

There would be no further investigation because the gun was covered with the labrador’s muddy paw prints, she said.

It’s not uncommon for hunters to be shot by their dogs. Read further for similar incidents:

An Iowa man named James Harris also faced a similar experience when a pack of hunting dogs shot him  in the leg as he went to retrieve a fallen pheasant in October.

Harris, 37, was shot while out with a party shooting for pheasants in Poweshiek county in the midwest state.

He is said to have rested his gun on the ground while retrieving a shot pheasant. As he crossed a fence a dog trod on the trigger and shot him in the calf from just a metre away.

Although he was hit by more than 100 birdshot pellets his injuries was not life threatening.

In other incident that took place in Pensacola,Fla on September 2004, a man who tried to shoot seven puppies was shot himself when one of the dogs put its paw on the revolver’s trigger.

Jerry Allen Bradford, 37, was the unlucky fellow who got a gunshot wound to his wrist. Bradford was holding two puppies — one in his arms and another in his left hand — when the dog in his hand wiggled and put its paw on the trigger of the .38-caliber revolver. The gun then discharged, wounding his wrist.
