Dogra Heritage Complex would be developed as tourist spot: Bhalla

Jammu,, July 16 (Scoop News) – For reviving the pristine glory of Dogra Heritage Complex at Mubarak Mandi, the Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla said that the State Government has got prepared conservation plan of all the buildings amounting to Rs. 250 crore under the 13th Finance Commission adding that an amount of Rs.50 crore has been earmarked for this project. He said that the Dogra Heritage Complex would be developed as tourist spot on traditional lines. The Minister said that Government is planning to construct Cable Car Project from Bahu Fort to Mubarak Mandi adding that the work would be started after completing the tendering formalities.

 Bhalla said that the Government has already formulated a  massive development plan   for  face lifting  of twin  capital cities of  Jammu and Srinagar. He said providing road connectivity to all villages is high on agenda of the Government, adding all unconnected areas would be connected with nearest district or tehsil headquarters through road network. He said that in view of the expansion of Jammu city, there was urgent need to formulate a prospective master-plan and assured people that drains and lanes of the upcoming localities would be developed as per the requirement of the area.

 

Bhalla also said that construction work of new Divisional Commissioner, office complex at Rail Head, Jammu would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 12.47 crore on modern lines with all infrastructural facilities.

            The Minister said this while interacting with the officers of JKPCC after inspecting the ongoing construction work of the complex at Rail Head, here this afternoon.

            Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, General Manager, JKPCC and other senior officers of PDD, PHE, R&B and JDA accompanied the Minister.

             Bhalla asked JKPCC to complete it within stipulated time frame adding that as per the approved plan, the 5-storey building on completion would provide computer rooms, meeting hall, staff rooms and adequate parking space in the basement. He said that Government has released Rs. 8.53 crore out of Rs. 12.47 crore of the total project cost in favour of JKPCC adding that the balance amount of Rs. 3.94 crore would be released soon for further finishing work.

 

            Earlier, the Minister also Visited village Nandni Sehora and inaugurated M/S G A Mineral Water Company Pvt. Ltd, established by  Jagdish Giri and  Atul Thakur.

Addressing the gathering,  Bhalla said that in view of limited opportunities of Government jobs, the coalition Government, headed by  Omar Abdullah, has launched number of employment schemes for creating employment opportunities to educated youth of the State. He asked the unemployed youth to avail the benefits of these schemes by opening their own income generating ventures. He said that Government has provided loans on low interest rates, besides necessary training and skill up-gradation facilities to the willful entrepreneurs.
