Gianeshwar an Engineer by profession was earlier hounoured by Sahitiya Academy for his literature written for children. He is the first person from the state who received this prestigious award for childrens’ litrerature.
Appreciating the literary efforts of Gianeshwar, the Minister said that he has not only brought Dogri literature in the limelight but also brought laurels to the state. He asked him to continue his literary efforts in future, adding that the writers play vital role in development, evolution and promotion of language.
Praising the efforts of Dr. Karan Singh, Prof. Chib said that he also played pivotal role in incorporating the Dogri language in 8th schedule which pave the way for promotion of language. He also enumerated the names of Dogri Sanstha and Dogri Manch for promotion and preservation of Dogra art, culture and language. He asked Sanstha to organize more programmes involving youth in rural areas to make the younger generation familiar about the Dogra legacy.
The Minister also released two publications of Dogri Sanstha namely Dogri Gath, and Nami Chetna and Parchol of Dr. Sushma Sharma on the occasion.

President, Dogri Sanstha Jammu, Prof. Lalit Magotra said that Sanstha established in 1947, will celebrate its foundation day on February 8. He also projected some demands including Library, multi-purpose hall, museum, reading room and display gallery in the premises of Sanstha.
Among others, President, Dogri Sanstha Jammu, Prof. Lalit Magotra, Prof. Baldev Singh, Dr. Sushma Sharma, Dr. Shashi Pathania, galaxy of academicians, besides prominent citizens and students were also present on the occasion.
Power and Rural Development. He reviewed the pace of progress on PMGSY road projects, water supply schemes and other developmental works and asked the concerned authorities to ensure completion in stipulated time frame.
