Don’t fall prey to misleading advertisements: DEC

 

 Jammu, February 6 (Scoop News) – Each year thousands of people become victims of misleading advertisements. According to Distance Education Council (DEC) that It has come to the notice of DEC that certain Universities /Institutions are giving misleading advertisements in the newspapers and through other media for admission in programmes through distance mode indicating that they have approval of the DEC for various programmes.

 

Students desirous of pursuing educational qualifications through distance mode are hereby advised to check the current status of approval / recognition of programmes of

Universities / Institutions available on DEC website www.dec.ac.in. In the absence of the DEC approval, qualifications acquired through distance mode shall not be treated recognized for the purpose of employment under Central Government.

 

Students are also advised not to take admission at any franchised Study Centre/Contact Point. Study Centre has to be operated by the University / Institution itself within its Territorial Jurisdiction only.
