Maitha Al Bustani, Head of Medical Fitness Centre at the Department of Health and Medical Services (Dohms), however said, the new rules are part of a trial and may be changed in future.
“According to the decision taken by the Minister of Health Humaid Al Quttami, the rules are being implemented on a trial basis for three months, and may be subject to change in the coming months," she explained.
A new fee structure has been set up for these tests. All residents have to hold a health card, which cost 300 Dh or a valid health insurance policy. Additional 250 Dh charged for HIV test, hepatitis B and hepatitis C test and test and test for tuberculosis, while 50 Dh each will be charged for stool test, urine test and first dose of hepatitis vaccine.
