DVD Review – Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield
Directed By Michael Feifer
Maple Pictures
This should have been "Gein in 666 Seconds"
Odd that a fine film Co. like Maple (Tidleand,Saw etc..) would stand behind such an atrocious attempt; at resurrecting the infamous tales of the Butcher of Plainfield, that of course spawned both The Texas Chainsaw franchise and The Silence of The Lambs. The ever popular "Manipulative Mommy" scenario ala Bates has the film’s plot thinning by the moment, with the utterly useless inclusion of a love tale between a dunce of a deputy and his "gurl". Wake up people! we want limbs – not love.
