Kulgam,/Srinagar, October 18(Scoop News) -Appreciating the people of the valley for upholding the mutual brotherhood and communal harmony among different faiths, the Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has said that two decades old turmoil could not enervate this fabric which was lit by the seers and saints centuries ago.
This was stated by the Deputy Chief Minister at a Maha Yagya organized in connection with Navratra by All India Migrant Coordination Committee in collaboration with local people at
MLA, Kulgam, M.Y.Tarigami, MLC, Mohamad Amin Bhat, senior congress leader Sardar Channi Singh besides senior civil and polices officers and prominent citizen of area were present on the occasion.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that holding such events would help in strengthening this great tradition. He said the saints and seers of the State have all along their life preached the message of brotherhood, love, unity and equality, adding “it is our duty to keep this lamp lighted”.
Tara Chand said that organizing this Maha Yagya after 22 years would help in revival of this old and rich tradition of the State. He said the wholehearted participation of the locals in such festivals will carve new chapters of unity and mutual brotherhood.
While talking to a group of migrant people who showed willingness to come back to Valley thereby sought Govt assistance including residential facilities, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Govt is encouraging every such person or family who intends to return back to Valley.
Deputy Chief Minister donated Rs. 50000 for the maintenance of the temple.
Highlighting the aim and objective of the congregation, Tarigami said that this will go a long way in generating a sense of security among the people who left the valley decades ago due to turmoil. He said Muslims of Kashmir are eager to see their Pandit brethren back to valley.
Earlier, local Muslims received the migrant families with great affection, love and honour and offered full support for their return and rehabilitation process. “Our eyes are eager for re-union” they expressed with emotional touch.
Later, Tara Chand and Tarigami visited the Ziyarat of Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani {RA} and prayed for peace and prosperity of the State.
