Two Fridays ago, the Philippines celebrated "Mother Earth Day 2007", entitled: AVE MARIA GAIA MYSTICA giving honor to Our Blessed Virgin Mary. Different best singers and musicians mostly from the University of the Philippines College of Music participated in this very solemn way of communicating to our GOD in helping Mother Earth for the sake of mankind.

Among the singers were Dean Montet Acoymo, Madam Fides Cuyugan-Asensio, Prof. Jonathan Badon, Madam Camille Lopez accompanied by her Mom as well as Madam Lourdes Gregorio and former College of Music Dean Maurie Borromeo as pianists; Mr. Lester Demetillo, guitarist; Mr. Renato Lucas, cellist; Mr. Coke Bolipata, violinist and others as accompanists during this memorable occasion. The only group singer that participated in this prestigious occasion’s the Andres Bonifacio Concert Choir under the baton of Maestro Jerry A. Dadap wherein I am one of the Soprano 1 members.

But of course, the big event was under the supervision of Madam Odette Alcantara, an ever energetic environmentalist of the land.

As part of the Earth Day Celebration, aside from the DENR Secretary Angelo Reyes and Quezon City Mayor Sonny Belmonte, a Good Samaritan Gawad Kalinga Founder Antonio Meloto and US Ambassador Kenny were also present during the installation of the Bell of World Peace at the Quezon City Memorial Circle.
