ECI Officials To Prepare A detailed Documentation On The Report
New Delhi (PIB-GR-TYP-BIN): A Social Media Consultation was organised by the Election Commission of India on December 17 – 18.
The basic agenda behind the Consultation was to understand the scope of using Social Media for the Election Commission of India.
The Consultation commenced on the 17th and extended for one and a half day. Eminent dignitaries from the field of academics to Ministries including the President’s house took part in it. Educational institutions like IIT Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Tata Institute of Social Sciences also took active part in this consultation.
Three thematic groups were made and participants as per their expertise were made part of the each group. The groups were namely Social Media Management Group, Expenditure Monitoring Group and Techno-legal Group.
The Commission inaugurated the Consultation on day one and also witnessed the final presentation session on 2nd day which highlighted the group’s report on social Media.
The Commission directed the ECI officials to prepare a detailed documentation on this report for consideration and future action.
